Cake Artist, and Shop owner, Cindi Murphy, studied art at the Herron Art Institute in Indianapolis. About 14 years ago, Cindi and her husband, traded the corporate world in Chicago for sunny Florida. She decided it was time to combine her love of design with her passion for baking.
It was also, time for some "cake" training, which included Master's classes at the Wilton school in Woodridge, Illinois and the Cal Java International Cake Design School in California, and training with some of the top artist in the world.
Cindi belongs to ICES, the International Cake Exploration Societee' and has trained with top cake artists, like the famous, Ron Ben Israel, Kerry Vincent, Nicholas Lodge, Bronwyn Weber, Mike McCarey and Linda Shonk as well as the Food Network Challenge winners and judges. Her designs have been featured in the following magazines; "Nuovo Bridal", "Harbor Style", "Everseen", "Sarasota" and the International "Here comes the Cake" magazine. Baked Occasions is listed on Wedding Wire, Martha Stewart Weddings and other bridal sites.
She was featured in the April/May 2009 "American Cake Decorating" magazine as a "Sucess Stories" of cake designers. A beautiful wedding cake at Boca Grande was featured in "The Knot" wedding magazine and on their website. Baked Occasions was selected "DreamTeam of Wedding Professionals" Cake Designer by Everseen magazine. Cindi is a certified food safety manager. Baked Occasions is a Florida State Licensed facility, and inspected by the Florida Department of Agriculture.
